To view slow-loading pages on your site:

  1. Log in to your account.

  2. If you have multiple sites, select the site you'd like to manage from the Site List.

  3. From the left menu, select Diagnostics.

  4. Under Issues, select Slow Pages.

Though slow loading pages may not seem like a big issue, remember that half of internet users will abandon a page if it doesn’t load in 2 seconds. If the diagnostics tool indicates that you have some slow loading pages, check out our tips below to get your site back to optimal performance.

  1. Think about what type of page it is. Sites that contain PDFs or very large images may take a long time to load and there's not much you can do about that. In those cases, you may want to add a small note to the referring link that warns users that they are about to download a PDF or large image file.

  2. Click on the link to see if the page still loads slowly. It could be that the page’s performance was reduced only temporarily because of a brief spike in traffic, server maintenance, etc.

  3. Load the page and scroll down to see if there are any plugins that are loading much slower than the rest of the site. You may need to update or remove some plugins to optimize your site’s performance.

  4. Use a web tool like Google’s PageSpeed Insights to get a report on the URL that is loading slowly. This tool will tell you which parts of your site are slowing it down and how you can make improvements.

  5. Check out further resources for addressing page speed issues. We recommend this helpful blog post that describes common errors and solutions.
