FAQs
Does this affect me?
This will only affect you if you are currently using a free version of the McAfee SECURE service. There are no changes to any of our paid Pro plans.
If you are using our Wix app, your site will not be migrated at this time.
What happens when my certification switches to TrustedSite?
Once your site becomes TrustedSite certified, the floating TrustedSite trustmark will display in place of the floating McAfee SECURE trustmark. It will display for up to 500 visits each month at no cost. You can upgrade to a Pro plan to remove the limit and get access to our full suite of tools.
Your existing verification page information will be migrated automatically, however, there is additional information you can add for your new listing.
Your verification page on mcafeesecure.com will no longer work, however you will have a new verification page on trustedsite.com.
You will also have access to adding verified business information. This information can help you build trust in your site beyond just security.
When will this change occur?
You can make the switch any time you like by selecting your site in your dashboard, clicking Upgrade then selecting Upgrade Now in the TrustedSite free card.
All sites will be automatically switched on January 16, 2020.
Why is this change happening?
We know that trust is about more than security. It's also about your business. The new TrustedSite certification is here to help you build trust beyond security by showing your verified business information. We hope you'll enjoy the new service.
If you'd like to continue using the McAfee SECURE certification, it's included in any of our Pro plans and continues to be one of the best ways to show your site is secure.
How do I prevent this change from occurring?
If you don't want to use the new TrustedSite service, you can disable the trustmark by logging into your account and selecting your site. From the site overview page, select Floating Trustmark and under settings select Off. No trustmark will display on your site.
