While most business owners are primarily concerned with responding to and mitigating the effect of negative reviews, there is also significant value in responding to positive reviews.
Here are some tips for how to approach positive reviews.
- Say thank you: Responding to the review shows that you are attentive and grateful for every customer’s business. Also, remember that it takes time and effort to write a review so the reviewer will appreciate being recognized for leaving a review.
- Include your business name: Reviews are used by search engines to determine your ranking so it helps to spell out your business name and even the product someone purchased. Here’s an example: “Thanks for being a crazystraws.com customer! I’m so glad you liked your colorful bendy straws!”
- Make them feel special: Give them a coupon code for their next purchase or tell them how their product is special in some way (e.g. “All of our bendy straws are actually compostable!”). Or just tell them you hope to see them again soon. Little acts of kindness can go a long way.
